This page will provide updated information about the current situation regarding COVID-19 and our operation at the Children’s Museum.

Any contribution you can make to the museum during this uncertain time would be welcome. Thank you for your support.

City of Brownsville is also providing up-to-date information at

If someone in your immediate family or group is sick, please stay home.

For the health and safety of our guests and staff, we ask that any child or adult with an elevated temperature or who does not feel well to stay home and not visit the museum until fully recovered.

Think proactively!

  • Wash your hands with soap and water up to 20 seconds (sing happy birthday 2 times)

  • Avoid touching people around you

  • Avoid touching eyes, mouth and face

  • Cough or sneeze into your elbow please.

We at the Children’s Museum are currently taking several measures to ensure the health and safety of our visitors:

  • We have increased efforts to thoroughly sanitize the interior of the museum on a periodic basis throughout the day and deep clean every evening.

  • We are having visitors sanitize their hands before entering the museum floor to help prevent the spread of germs, and we provide sanitizing stations in our lobby.

  • We are currently monitoring updates from the CDC, World Health Organization, and county and city leader recommendations.

  • This is an evolving situation and the museum may alter its plan of action moving forward.

Cancellations and changes to visits:

Due to the current circumstances, the museum is waiving fees for cancelations of birthday parties and field trips. Please contact Lucy Villanueva if you need to make a change. She can be reached via email at
