CMB’s Summer Camp Series Has Begun!

Summer Camps Make For Summer Fun at the CMB!

We hope that everybody has been enjoying their summer vacation so far! Between the incredible heat and the massive rainfall we’ve seen lately, it’s certainly been a memorable season. Here at the Children’s Museum of Brownsville, our Summer Camp sessions have been in full-swing, as our MACH 1 and Around the World Camps saw us roll out a ton of creatively themes activities for our little campers to enjoy. However, these two camps are only the beginning – we still have several weeks of camps on our calendar!

For example, our Beansprout Science camp has always been one of our most requested. This science camp is the perfect way to introduce little ones to basic yet educational and fun STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) concepts. Kids will have so much fun learning through a series of safe and age-appropriate activities in areas such as physics, engineering, chemistry, art, and math. Combine these together, and Beansprouts is a great way to introduce your little ones to the wonderfully incredible world of science!

For those of you wondering if there are any camps geared toward older kids, we’re happy to say that we’ve got that covered. CMB and Nerdvana have once again combined our efforts and planned not one but two camps designed to appeal to and engage kids who are looking to truly expand their horizons. The first of these, Summer of STEM, is a weeklong series of different STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) related concepts and activities which will give them hands-on experience in areas such as programming, 3D printing and design, drone technology, and more. The following week’s camp, Invention/Innovation, also deals with STEM concepts but places them within a specific frame of reference. Kids will have the opportunity to explore and harness STEM skills in order to try and tackle a specific set of scenarios designed to put their problem-solving abilities to the test.

These three are just a small sampling of the array of camps we’ll be hosting as the weeks roll on, and we’d like nothing more than for you to join us so that you can experience the fun firsthand. If you haven’t signed up yet, take a look through out listing on our website (or click on any of the camps photos to be taken directly to our registration page) and see which ones catch your attention. We still have a few open slots available, so sign up and make sure that this summer is a memorable one at the CMB!

We’d also like to remind everybody that the museum will be closed on Wednesday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day. We will be back to our regular hours of operation the following day.
